Viability Theory
Viability Theory (Systems & Control: Foundations & Applications) by Jean Pierre Aubin
English | November 1, 1991 | ISBN: 0817635718 | Pages: 544 | DJVU | 8,7 MB
The book is a compendium of the state of knowledge about viability... Mathematically, the book should be accessible to anyone who has had basic graduate courses in modern analysis and functional analysis... The concepts are defined and many proofs of the requisite results are reproduced here, making the present book essentially self-contained.

Social Acceleration A New Theory of Modernity
Hartmut Rosa, Jonathan Trejo-Mathys, "Social Acceleration: A New Theory of Modernity"
English | 2015 | ISBN: 0231148356 | 512 pages | EPUB | 5 MB
Hartmut Rosa advances an account of the temporal structure of society from the perspective of critical theory. He identifies three categories of change in the tempo of modern social life: technological acceleration, evident in transportation, communication, and production; the acceleration of social change, reflected in cultural knowledge, social institutions, and personal relationships; and acceleration in the pace of life, which happens despite the expectation that technological change should increase an individual's free time.

Reconstructing Marxism Essays on Explanation and the Theory of History
Erik Olin Wright, Andrew Levine, Elliott Sober, "Reconstructing Marxism: Essays on Explanation and the Theory of History"
English | 1992 | ISBN: 0860915549, 0860913422 | 202 pages | PDF | 11 MB
Reconstructing Marxism explores fundamental questions about the structure of Marxist theory and its prospects for the future. The authors maintain that the disintegration of the old theoretical unity of classical Marxism is in part responsible for what is commonly called the "crisis of Marxism." Only a reconstructed Marxism can come to terms with this disintegration.

RF MEMS Theory, Design, and Technology
Rebeiz, "RF MEMS: Theory, Design, and Technology"
English | 2003 | ISBN: 0471201693 | 506 pages | PDF | 17.9 MB
Ultrasmall Radio Frequency and Micro-wave Microelectromechanical systems (RF MEMs), such as switches, varactors, and phase shifters, exhibit nearly zero power consumption or loss. For this reason, they are being developed intensively by corporations worldwide for use in telecommunications equipment. This book acquaints readers with the basics of RF MEMs and describes how to design practical circuits and devices with them. The author, an acknowledged expert in the field, presents a range of real-world applications and shares many valuable tricks of the trade.

Proof Theory The First Step into Impredicativity
Proof Theory: The First Step into Impredicativity By Wolfram Pohlers
2008 | 380 Pages | ISBN: 3540693181 | PDF | 4 MB
This book verifies with compelling evidence the author's inclination to "write a book on proof theory which needs no previous knowledge of proof theory". Avoiding the cryptic terminology of proof as far as possible, the book starts at an elementary level and displays the connections between infinitary proof theory and generalized recursion theory, especially the theory of inductive definitions. As a "warm up" the classical analysis of Gentzen is presented in a more modern terminology to proceed with explaining and proving the famous result by Feferman and Schütte on the limits of predicativity. The author, too, provides an introduction to ordinal arithmetic, introduces the Veblen hierarchy and employs these functions to design an ordinal notation system for the ordinals below Epsilon 0 and Gamma 0, while emphasizing the first step into impredicativity, i.e., the first step beyond Gamma 0. An earlier version of this book was originally published in 1989 as volume 1407 of the Springer series "Lecture Notes in Mathematics".
