The Making of the Global Yijing in the Modern World Cross-cultural Interpretations and Interactions (Chinese Culture, 4)
The Making of the Global Yijing in the Modern World: Cross-cultural Interpretations and Interactions (Chinese Culture, 4) by Benjamin Wai-ming Ng
2021 | ISBN: 9813362278 | English | 241 pages | PDF | 5.4 MB
This book represents an ambitious effort to bring leading Yijing scholars together to examine the globalisation and localisation of the 'Book of Changes' from cross-cultural and comparative perspectives. It focuses on how the Yijing has been used to support ideologies, converted into knowledge, and assimilated into global cultures in the modern period, transported from the Sinosphere to British, American and French cultural traditions, travelling from East Asia to Europe and the United States. The book provides conceptualised narratives and cross-cultural analyses of the global popularisation and local assimilation of the Yijing, highlighting the transformation and application of the Yijing in different cultural traditions, and demonstrating how it acquired different meanings and took on different roles in the context of a global setting. In presenting a novel contribution to understandings of the multifaceted nature of the Yijing, this book is essential reading for scholars and students interested in the 'Classic of Changes'. It is also a useful reference for those studying Chinese culture, Asian philosophy, East Asian studies, and translation studies.

English | 2021 | ASIN : B09BDX3N76 | 24 pages | PDF, AZW3, EPUB, MOBI | 1.77 MB
Recently, military and political experts continued to talk about the possibility of the outbreak of a third world war between the major international powers, especially the United States, Russia and China.
The last of these indications was the talk of the former US Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, about the presence of signs of a world war at the door, expressing his concern about the possibility of an armed conflict between America and China.

Vico's New Science of the Intersubjective World
Vico's New Science of the Intersubjective World By Vittorio Hösle
2016 | 282 Pages | ISBN: 0268100284 | EPUB | 3 MB
Among the classics of the history of philosophy, theScienza nuova(New Science) by Giambattista Vico (1668-1744) was largely neglected and generally misunderstood during the author's lifetime. From the nineteenth century onwards Vico's views found a wider audience, and today his influence is widespread in the humanities and social sciences. The New Science is often taught in courses at colleges and universities, both in philosophy and Italian departments and in general humanities courses. Despite the excellent English translations of this enigmatic book and numerous studies in English of Vico, many sections of the work remain challenging to the modern reader.Vico's New Science of the Intersubjective Worldoffers both an in-depth analysis of all the important ideas of the book as well as an evaluation of their contribution to our present understanding of the social world. In the first chapter, Vittorio Hösle examines Vico's life, sources, and writings. The second and third chapters discuss the concerns and problems of theScienza nuova. The fourth chapter traces the broader history of Vico's reception. Hösle facilitates the understanding of many passages in the work as well as the overarching structure of its claims, which are often dispersed over many sections. Hösle reformulates Vico's vision in such a way that it is not only of historical interest but may inspire ongoing debates about the nature of the humanities and social sciences as well as many other issues on which Vico sheds light, from the relation of poetry and poetics to the development of law. This book will prepare students and scholars for a precise study of theScienza nuova, equipping them with the necessary categories and context and familiarizing them with the most important problems in the critical debate on Vico's philosophy.

States, Civilisations and the Reset of World Order
English | 2021 | ISBN: 1032006501 | 189 pages | True PDF | 9.87 MB
This book evaluates the current state of world (dis)order at a time of growing populism, nationalism and pandemic panic. It distils the implications of the 'civilisational state' for world order.
The retreat of US leadership is mirrored by the decline of both the material and normative liberal multilateral infrastructure it supported. Meanwhile, the rise of China as a challenger is accompanied in political, economic and cultural terms by other emerging powers no longer bound to the norms of 20th century world affairs, notably Turkey, India, China and Russia. By emphasising a cultural lens of analysis alongside robust political and economic analysis, the author offers a prescriptive agenda for the coming post-pandemic age that recognises the changing powers of civilisational, state and hybrid non-state actors. Without overestimating their probabilities, he outlines prospects and preconditions for effective inter-civilisational dialogue and proposes a series of minimal conditions for a multilateral 'reset'.

Corona The World'S Greatest Fake Of The Twenty-First Century
English | 2021 | ASIN : B09BDJ5L3F | 113 pages | PDF, AZW3, EPUB, MOBI | 13.98 MB
I wrote this work to give myself the opportunity to deal with the subject of Corona. In this work I have allowed myself to set up my own hypotheses in order to be able to establish a better connection. Unfortunately, I didn't do it very well. But nonetheless, I would like to offer readers the opportunity to get an idea for themselves. In my opinion, the question mark in the title is rightly appropriate, since the scientists themselves disagree with one another. At the beginning of the work one could get the impression that I would have gained the opinion that the Corona crisis was a bluff, but as the book progresses, the reader will no longer be so sure. With this in mind, I wish the readers a lot of fun reading and perhaps one or the other will develop the motivation to delve deeper into the world of virology and genetics. For me personally the topic is far too extensive to be able to bring it to the last certainty myself. Have fun reading and thank you very much for your attention.
